Hi-ho, hi-ho, off to camp we go.....
What an absolutely gorgeous weekend!!! We went camping at Yankee Springs Recreational Area just south of Grand Rapids. This area is absolutely beautiful. Jim and Loretta and Tim’s sister and brother-in-law joined us. The weather was absolutely perfect. Lizzie loves to camp, she cried uncontrollably on Monday when it was time to leave. I think she would be happy if we lived in our camper year round. Initially she was disappointed that we were not at Yogi Bear (Jellystone), but she over it especially since she had Auntie and Nana to entertain her. I think she grew gills and fins (Daddy's little crappy) after spending so much time in Gun Lake and Lake Michigan. We have quite a bit of camping planned for the summer, our next trip is to Yogi Bear Father’s Day weekend, Higgins Lake over the 4th. We are leaving our camper at Yogi Bear for the whole month of September, it will be Lizzie’s dream come true. Sometime in the summer we plan on venturing up North to visit my dad just west of Cadilliac. Someone once told me that “camping ain’t easy,” but it is a great time! Tim and I agree that the camper is one of the best things we ever did for Lizzie because she enjoys it soooo much and it’s a great family experience!

vincent and i went camping in a tent once with nicholas when he was about 4 or 5. we vowed never to do that again. give me a cabin, hotel, whatever. however, we are discussing getting an rv and going it seniors style. but we will wait and see how much gas will be then. unless they have a hybrid rv. glad you had an awesome time and yes jellystone is thee campgroud. awesome!
Camping - no way! I promised myself if I lived through Girl Sprouts I would never sleep in a sleeping bag, sleep anywhere near the ground, have to take a walk to the showers and/or restrooms, etc. etc. etc ever again! I hope to never rough it any more than Motel 6. And I know first hand of the luxuries of today's RVs. My brother has a dealership and gives us the sales pitch every time we see him. He and his wife love it. He can also wheel a 40 footer towing a trailer around like it was a Honda. Not for this kid. I am grateful for his sake that there are people in the world who like RVs - and happy for the people who enjoy their camping. Party on!
